A real problem. Your original idea.
Pick one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Find a real world problem that matters to you. Then build an app that could help solve it.
Your app could protect wildlife, make learning accessible, reduce food waste, support wellbeing or tackle another real need. Use Canva Code to bring it to life, with AI as your co-creator.

Explain what your project does, why it matters and how it helps. Ask your teacher to help prepare a shareable link to your completed project pack.
Inside the prototyping pack
Practical guidance from the 2026 pack to help you start thinking about your project.
Use readable text, clear contrast, useful image descriptions and a sensible keyboard focus order. Think about who might otherwise be left out.
Be honest about what your prototype can do. Use hypothetical data rather than collecting real personal information. The supplied pack asks you not to connect your project to Canva Sheets.
The 2026 rubric gives a useful picture of the work behind a strong entry. The final 2027 judging details will be announced.
The 2026 community
Last year, students from around the world used Canva Code to tackle the Sustainable Development Goals.
Students explored apps for cleaner oceans, water conservation and understanding environmental change.
